Bizarre Aquarium and Fish Care

Not all the tropical fish are easy to take care of. Some are a bit weird and have special requirements. One of these bizarre fish is the Sailfin Mollies, from the family of Poeciliida from the river estuary and coastal zones of Yucatan. This fish has long dorsal fins, raised high. You can buy this fish species from pet stores. The body has many beautiful colors like blue-green and some metallically marks. The males have are orange-black fins and you can spot the female because of her blue-gray fins.

Water Conditions
The Sailfin Mollies prefers warm climates. For this fish, the water in the freshwater aquarium must be set at 73 and no higher than 82 degrees Fahrenheit. Also add 3 little spoons of salt to 10 liters of water when you change the tank water. The water density should be around the same as the Ph balance. You should add up to 3 teaspoons of salt with 10 liters of water and replace the water regularly with fresh water. This fish likes good light, comfortably furnished environments, good lights, and many plants.

Nutrition:
They love to eat vegetables on occasion and live bait all the time. They are omnivorous in nature. The male fish don’t like to gather. He likes to keep away from the others and he loves a big tank with lots of space.

The African Lungfish look like small snakes and they come from the protopteridae family. The fish are named under the Protopterus Dolloi and they can be found in the Zaire River Basin. These fish have pelvic fins and pectorals. Also, they have joining anal, dorsal, and caudal fins The color of most African Lungfish is darker brown and they grow from 2 feet up to 10 feet.


Water Conditions
Lungfish like quiet environments but they also adapt to dense creek areas with running waters. If you have a fish like this, keep the water temperature at 72 degrees Fahrenheit and not higher than 84 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, put in the tank some fresh dry mud at all times. Besides this, this fish likes slightly hard water and a low volume of oxygen. Because of this, make sure the other fish can stand this low oxygen volume.

Nutrition:
This fish loves to eat snails, worms, mussels and other live pray. You can also serve him some beef meat or other type of meat.

Serrasalmus Rhombeus
This is a fish known by the name of Spotted Piranha and White Piranha. The piranhas are originally from the Amazon Basins and South America waters. They grow up to 10 inches in size in wild waters. In captivity, the largest piranhas have only six inches in size. If you are keeping fish tanks for the first time, avoid this fish species because it requires a lot of experience. The body of the fish is a bit pressed and the color is silvery or olive green. The main characteristics of this fish are the razor sharp teeth. They are used to devour prey, including human hands. They face of this fish looks like a bulldog and they are just as aggressive as the dog.
